Gift of Love

I want to share with you a very special gift this week. Christmas is just two days away and it’s a time of celebration, families gathering together, exchanging of gifts, sharing in food, watching the joy of a child and believing in love.

Believing in love is key as without it you lose hope and joy. Hope is that feeling you get that anything is possible; it’s that light at the end of the tunnel that keeps you going. Joy is how you feel when you are thankful for everything you have in your life now and what is to come. It’s finding happiness in the small things day to day and with each days grateful heart you are able to enjoy your life even when there is stress and chaos within it.

That belief in love is what helps you get through a difficult day, whether you have pain in your life due to grief, the inability to forgive yourself for something, feeling as though everything is your fault, the bad decisions you have made, not being there for your family mentally, spiritually or physically. For those of you with illnesses the hope that it will get better if not today then tomorrow, that all you have to do is believe.

What do you believe in to help you get through your days? Do you believe in your family, your spouse, the love you have for one another? Do you believe that if you earn just a little more money things will work out? Do you believe that if you provide for your family by working long hours that your family will appreciate your efforts even though you aren’t around? Do you believe that you are meant to be alone because you don’t deserve any better?

There is no greater love than that of God especially at Christmas. He sent his son Jesus Christ into this world so that he could take upon all of our sins and allow us the choice of accepting him and believing in him. A tiny baby was the hope of the world, the joy that fills our hearts and the love from God above.

Could it be possible that you have not heard of this wonderful news? Let me share a little of it now with you. God sent his son Jesus Christ into this world as a baby. He is that wonderful gift that the angels announced to the shepherds and the wise men followed the star over Bethlehem to greet the King.

That beautiful precious baby grew up teaching others of God, His Father, and what was required of us by Him, to love our neighbor as ourselves. To love, that is the greatest gift of all. Jesus then died on a cross for us, taking upon all of our sins, accepting that he was to be the sacrifice for us. As if that wasn’t enough He then rose from the dead three days later. God was displaying his love by showing us that we too can be born again through His son, Jesus Christ.

Talk about a gift of love that is the greatest one of all. No matter where you are in your life right now, fighting addictions, grieving for a love one, working too many hours, chasing the dollar, feeling lost or alone, or just unsure what you are meant to do in your life, the baby that came into this world to save us all is your answer.

God will bring you the hope you need, the love you desire, the joy to fill your heart. Now you have someone in your life that truly loves you, that will listen to you every moment of every day if you call out to Him, that desires to be your Father, and who wishes to give you a purpose. All you have to do is accept Him and believe in Him. When you do your heart will fill with joy overflowing.

If you are at a crossroads in your life today, full of uncertainty, unsure of your purpose then accept Jesus into your heart. It will be the greatest Christmas present you could ever give yourself, eternal life with Him, full of love, hope, grace and joy. Accept His gift of love and see how it will change your life.

Share this gift with others; show love to all, celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and have a blessed and Merry Christmas.
